Music 1

Stage 6 Music 1 is designed for students with a diverse range of musical backgrounds and interests, offering an inclusive and comprehensive music education. The course caters to those who have a passion for music and wish to deepen their understanding, performance, and appreciation of various musical styles and genres.

The Stage 6 Music 1 course is divided into Preliminary (Year 11) and HSC (Year 12) components. Students will engage in a blend of performance, composition, musicology, and aural activities, fostering a holistic approach to music education. The course encourages the development of practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and critical thinking. The best part about the course is the YOU get to decide what you want to study depending on your interests.

 

Visual Arts

Ignite your imagination, kindle your curiosity, explore exhibitions and discover new ways of thinking about the world we live in by electing this exciting, hands-on subject.

With an outstanding record for producing Band 5 and 6 results for our students, this Visual Arts Course is a beginners course which requires no prior learning in Year 9 or 10, so you can begin your Visual Arts journey here.

Our classes are tailored to our students with beginners learning new skills and continuers expanding on their prior knowledge and exploring their favourite materials.

We have an emphasis on one-to-one interaction and creating opportunities for guidance, feedback and discussion, create experimental opportunities and provide space to create, make and play to help you grow quickly towards artistic independence, to help support you in the creation of your own body of work.

Visual Design

In Visual Design you will learn about and produce your own graphics, digital photography, product design and wearable designs. You will experience the role of the artistic designer by understanding design thinking and working to design briefs to devise your own creative solutions. The Visual Design course provides you with opportunities to creatively explore your visual communication skills and is designed for those students who have an interest in Visual Arts and a desire to develop this into design-based solutions. Some of the projects offered in the course include the development of graphic design skills to create personalised fonts and graphics, wearable art, jewellery, contemporary ceramic design and graphic event design. Studying Visual design can lead to careers in architecture; graphic design; interior design; product and furniture design; costume and fashion design; stage design; ceramics; and jewellery.
